WIC Education Kit — The WIC(Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children) education kit provides valuable tools for helping WIC health professionals educate clients on the benefits of nutrient-rich dairy foods. Healthy Weight Education Kit — Research shows that enjoying three servings of low-fat or fat-free milk, cheese, or yogurt as part of a nutrient-rich, balanced diet may help maintain a healthy weight. DASH Education Kit — This kit contains important information on the role of dairy and dairy nutrients in promoting the benefits of the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) eating plan. Download handouts, fact sheets, recipes and other information to use with clients who need to improve their eating habits. Research shows the low-fat DASH eating plan, which includes two to three servings of dairy foods and eight to ten servings of fruits and vegetables, may help manage blood pressure. Child Nutrition Education Kit — Idaho Dairy Council is committed to improving children’s health by working with health professionals and educators to provide resources to ensure that children 9 years of age and older get the Dietary Guidelines for Americans’ recommended three servings of low-fat and fat-free dairy foods every day.*
Educating the public on the benefits of milk and milk products is important because kids need more milk more often. Meeting current intake recommendations for nutrient-rich, low-fat and fat-free milk and milk products can help foster healthier diets among kids and teens.
*Children ages 2 — 8 are encouraged to consume 2 cups of milk or equivalent milk products each day, as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
